I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now: Google and Apple have declared a truce in their 4-year patent battle and have even agreed to join forces on patent reform. The companies have been raging a very expensive, time-consuming war, fighting multiple battles in jurisdictions around the world. And now, just like that, it’s over.
This news came as quite a surprise to many, myself included. But I say well done. Apple and Google are two of the biggest, most influential businesses in the world. I think they are setting a great example by agreeing to invest in the future – technology that will continue to change the world for all of us – instead of investing in lawsuits and legal fees. Because if Google and Apple can decide to play nice, shouldn’t the rest of us be able to do the same?
We here at Maestro are happy to create apps and software for Apple and Android – hey, and Microsoft, too, for that matter! It’s not about picking favorites. It’s about choosing the best platform for your needs and crafting software that brings them to life. So, Apple and Google, we’re happy to see you hug it out. …or at least put an end to the war.
