Two things: God and people. And with that peace of mind under his belt, Michael started living his life accordingly. By marrying his first and only girlfriend, Emily. By studying with the Taiwanese for four years. By scuba diving with Filipinos. By skiing with Koreans. By backpacking among the people of Thailand. By volunteering in an orphanage with Cambodians. And by becoming a grateful father.
Michael grew up as the middle child with one brother and three sisters in Sturgis, Michigan. His parents taught Michael and his siblings at home for the majority of their grade school years, exposing them to opportunities from violin and theatre through the public schools to community college courses in Spanish and history. After graduation, Michael flirted with acting but ended up working with nonprofits and political campaigns instead. Three weeks after marrying Emily they moved to Taiwan and began working on degrees, thanks to a couple of all-inclusive scholarships. After a testy relationship with Calculus, Michael graduated at the head of his class with a degree in business administration.
Before joining Maestro, Michael worked as a regional director of a gubernatorial campaign, for the Student Statesmanship Institute, as a PR specialist in Taiwan and as an account executive at Newmind Group. He likes adventure, watching documentaries, bicycling and finding the best restaurants no one else knows about. Michael and his wife share a faith in Jesus Christ and want to use their lives to serve family, friends and the community. "Getting a job at Maestro has been a dream come true for me. I get to spend my days with some of the most talented people I've ever met, giving clients services that are unbelievably awesome."
