Although Melanie has deftly balanced and managed projects for Kimberly Clark, Chrysler, Kellogg, Heinz and Stryker, her true heart beats for art. "I love having any opportunity to be creative," she says. "My current passion is watercolor and pen illustration or drawing with my mobile app, but I am also into coloring and drawing on the tub walls with my two kids. I will always find opportunities to do creative things with my kids."
Melanie grew up with two sisters and later gained three step brothers in the Metro Detroit area and has only lived in West Michigan since 2010. After high school, she attended community college and then transferred to Walsh, a private business school in the Detroit area. Today, she has a degree in business and a certificate in Interactive Marketing and has logged 13 years in digital. She began with quality assurance, promotion fulfillment and legal administration. Some of her fondest memories? How about giving cars away at Detroit Tigers' games and racing cars—even spinning out a Viper at the SRT Track Experience?
For Melanie, life keeps getting better. "I feel like the older I get, the more my life improves. In the last 10 years, I met my husband, got married on the beach, moved to west Michigan and had two great kids—a fast-running four-year-old boy and a mischievous two-year-old girl. In the midst of all that, she also had time to wedge in a few classes at the KIA (creative writing, oil painting and drawing). With one Art Hop under her belt, she looks forward to more in the future. As for Maestro? "I am excited to be here and to continue to expand my PM skills. I love the openness of our office and the collaborative culture. This is a warm and welcoming group."
