“Right now, I’m focused on starting a new chapter with our daughter, Julia.” When Ben Meden talks about the things he values, he puts friends and family at the top of the list. “I really enjoy spending time with loved ones and sharing in their interests,” Ben says. He also loves the software world, new foods and experiences. Although he loves destinations, he’s not really a fan of traveling.
Ben grew up in Alpena, Michigan, where his mother taught school and his dad worked as a HVAC designer. Rounding out the family was a younger brother and the family dog, Tucker. Ben has a degree from Michigan State University, and he and his wife moved to Kalamazoo about a year and half ago. He said he was glad to see a company of Maestro’s caliber in town, but he didn’t make contact right away because he was still working full time as a contractor for a Chicago firm.
Ben is no stranger to work, having started at age 13 working with his Dad in a warehouse. Since then, there have been stints in food service, cooking, catering, data entry and video production. His thoughts on Maestro? “Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, and I love the atmosphere and environment. I’m also very impressed with the projects we’re doing. It feels like a great fit—the perfect place for me right now.”
