XR/Unity Intern

Maestro is seeking a part-time XR/Unity intern for a paid, three month program designed to expose the intern to real, client facing work primarily in the areas of augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality. We’re looking for the right combination of talent, chemistry, character, and passion.

Who You Are

You, my friend, are a creator who is interested in AR, VR, MR, or all three! Maybe you have experience working with one reality but want expand your repertoire to include more. Maybe you have just begun to dabble in another reality and are ready to take it to the next level. Nonetheless, you are eager to learn how XR technologies function and build these cutting edge reality experiences alongside developers and designers! You possess the ability to work collaboratively, you always remain open to feedback, and you know how and when to defend your development decisions. AND if you told me Unity was your go to workspace- I wouldn’t be surprised one bit.

What You'll Be Doing on the Maestro Team

  • Augmented reality projects that superimpose models and experiences overtop of the real world
  • Virtual reality projects where you are the creator of a new virtual world driving your users through fun and invigorating experiences
  • Mixed reality projects where both the virtual and augmented realities co-exist and interact with each other in real time
  • WebGL projects where users can access games and experiences through their browsers
  • Build and maintain a variety of augmented, virtual, and mixed reality experiences within Unity
  • Requirement gathering, ideating, creating, and maintaining concepts to communicate potential solutions
  • Advocate for collaborative design, design thinking, and an inclusive process from the very start of a project lifecycle
  • Research and implement cutting-edge technology in an effort to find unique solutions to problems.
  • Work closely with project teams to take an idea from concept to implementation
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to solve complex challenges

Talents We're Looking For

  • Experience developing in Unity
  • Familiarity with C#
  • Ability to write maintainable, standard-driven code
  • A shipped, finished, or a WIP experience built with Unity
  • Understanding of AR/VR/MR technologies
  • Experience working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members
  • Willingness to continually give and solicit feedback from others across a wide-range of disciplines to achieve a rich perspective
  • Ability to manage time appropriately and clearly communicate changes in effort or scope
