Who we are

Maestro exists to help others perform beautifully. We believe that every problem can be impacted by design, technology, and people that care. That’s why we seek out dreamers and doers ready to design meaningful experiences that help our partners, their people, and their brand perform beautifully. Our team works collaboratively to craft intentional solutions for Branding & Marketing, Learning, Software, and Media.

Who you are

Writing: it’s one of those things you could nerd out about all day. You’re a detailed-oriented individual with exceptional writing and editing skills. You not only know your way around a sentence, you have a keen understanding of how to adapt your writing tone and style according to project needs. In addition to being a great written communicator, you’re also capable of (and comfortable with) presenting and explaining your work to team members in a clear manner. When it comes to your work, you’re willing to learn and follow strict formatting guidelines to help apply instructional design strategies to course material. You’re super organized and you’re a pro with desktop publishing software such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office. And you’re not just happy to work in a collaborative team environment—you thrive in one.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with the project team to concept learning solutions
  • Write the outline, storyboard, and scripts for learning solutions
  • Research and synthesize a variety of source materials such as project briefs, marketing brochures, journal articles, standard operating procedures, and client feedback to inform instructional content
  • Implement revisions to your written content based on constructive feedback from other project team members
  • Meet project milestones and deadlines

What we’re looking for

  • Ability to dedicate at least 10-20 hours to projects per week
  • Prior experience in instructional design, business communication, journalism, editing, technical writing, or similar
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of various writing style guides, especially Chicago
  • Excellent time management skills and prompt communication
  • Comfort using G-suite and other digital collaboration tools
  • Availability during EST business hours preferred
  • Prior agency experience is a plus
  • Bonus if you have a background in writing about technical concepts such as finance, law, or the medical field

The perks

  • Hourly rate based on experience and talent
  • Opportunity to be considered for additional contract work in the future
  • Opportunity to work as part of a fun, collaborative, and creative team
  • Flexibility to work remotely or from our beautiful downtown office, which we keep stocked with snacks, games, and occasional doggos
