Content Writing Internship

Maestro is seeking a Content Writing Intern for a paid, semester-long program that will provide the intern direct experience creating various written content solutions. The Content Writing Intern works closely with Instructional Designers and Copywriters, gaining experience writing in a variety of real-world business settings.

This includes exposure to different modes of writing, including technical writing, instructional design, and copywriting, as well as roles associated to project management, graphic design, software development, and programming, as well as various industries and verticals, such as life sciences, finance, sales, and retailing.

The Content Writing Intern begins the internship learning about industry standards and shadowing meetings with clients, eventually taking on client-facing projects and additional assignments as directed. By the end of the internship, the Content Writing Intern is expected to work with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborates with various teams to determine written solution design and project strategy.

Researches a variety of source materials such as marketing brochures, standard operating procedures, and client feedback to inform written deliverables.

Develops outlines, storyboards, and scripts.

Reviews and edits written materials at designated milestones.

Performs additional tasks, such as copyediting Maestro projects and contributing to internal Maestro training resources.

Job Qualifications

Required

Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in English, Marketing, Journalism, or similar

Dynamic writing skill, with an understanding that not all copy requires an academic writing style, but does benefit from being well-organized and easy to read

Ability to quickly learn written standards and apply those standards to writing

Insane attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Expertise in desktop publishing software (Google Docs and Microsoft Office)

Prior experience in professional writing

Passion for excellent user experiences

Ability to contribute without being asked and bring some fresh ideas to the table

Compensation

Hourly rate depends on experience and talent level.
